NUTRITIONIST LISTS 5 SPECIFIC FOODS TO AVOID WHEN IT COMES TO WEIGHT LOSS

If you've ever scrolled through the fitness or food content on TikTok, then you already know how overwhelming the amount of information is on there. The problem is, not everyone knows what they're talking about. So it's important to be cautious about who you're taking your health advice from!

TikTok user Amanda (@amanda.after) is not only a certified holistic nutritionist but she herself has lost 70 pounds, so she knows a thing or two about health and nutrition. You probably see a ton of "healthy" foods advertised and discussed online but how do we know which ones are actually good for us? In this video, Amanda lists five foods that honestly are overrated when it comes to weight loss. Skip these next time!

The first one might surprise you because this project is absolutely all over the nutrition and fitness sides of TikTok! But it's not as good as it may seem. Bloom greens are an influencer favorite and their marketing budget is extensive, so you've probably seen at least one or two of their ads before. Their popular greens powders promise clear skin, a healthy gut, and numerous other health benefits that honestly? Aren't all that. To get a proper serving of daily greens, you would have to be consuming four servings of Bloom greens, which is way too expensive. You might as well just eat fresh greens!

Instead of Bloom greens, Amanda recommends bone broth, as it can boost your skin and help satiate your appetite since it's full of protein.

Next, Amanda puts the Alani pre-workout powders on blast, saying that it is "gut-destroying" and has one too many stimulants. Instead of this brand, Amanda suggested trying Legion's non-stimulant Pulse pre-workout drink, which she says has non-toxic ingredients and is a good boost of energy.

Now this one might surprise you! While protein bars are usually marketed as a staple of a healthy lifestyle, more often than not these snacks are overpacked with fat and calories as opposed to protein. Quest bars are a huge culprit, says Amanda. For a better high-protein snack, she recommends beef sticks that will help support your muscle and metabolic repair.

Finally, Amanda recommends avoiding any juice concentrates, especially ones that claim to have "natural flavors," like Naked juices. She says to try the Cold Pressed brand juices, as they are stored in a non-toxic glass and are made with real juice.

Remember that just because an influencer is promoting an item doesn't guarantee its health benefits!
