“QUITTING FRUIT SAVED MY LIFE”: WHEN FOOD PROFILING WORKS MIRACLES

These words are those of Virginie Timmermans, a food profiling expert in Belgium. After a difficult "health journey", she explains to the Belgian daily Metrotime why stopping fruit completely changed her life.

Virginie Timmermans is a young thirty-something, Belgian entrepreneur, founder of Weshfood; a food profiling platform, offering coaching, workshops and corporate events around food. The goal is to identify each person's food profile and to help those who suffer from intolerances to identify the source of the problem. There is no question of banning treats and "pleasure" foods! You learn to eat what suits you (aware of everything that is included in the composition of your food) and to select the most suitable products to be able to "pop into shape"!

While Virginie enjoys life to the fullest, she has not always been so enthusiastic... From childhood, she began to suffer from a chronic inflammatory condition, she felt unexplained states of weakness. At 18, the attacks not only didn't stop, on the contrary, they intensified. "I wasn't living anymore. I was surviving," she tells Metrotime, even though she indulged in a whole bunch of diets, vegetarian, gluten-free, low in lactose, rich in fruits... she realized, thanks to food profiling, that was is completely on the wrong track!

It is by drastically reducing all foods rich in salicylates, that is to say fruits, coconut milk, olive oil or nuts, and by increasing her intake of animal proteins, that Virginie heals herself. "Stopping fruit saved my life," reads her Insta profile! While specifying that she does not recommend anyone to stop these foods, she always recommends a balanced and healthy diet, but above all a diet adapted to one's "profile".

After discovering the origin of her malaise, the young Belgian trained in food profiling using the Taty Lauwers method. This method “brings together five different approaches and is based on the analysis of responses to several questionnaires. It thus makes it possible to define our deep metabolic profile (which remains essentially the same until our death) and our current metabolic profile (which depends on external factors, intolerances and allergies for example), which, combined, determine our profile.” indicates Metrotime.

This is how, today, this talented entrepreneur helps people in need, through concrete actions to change their eating habits and optimize their health! Without any frustration!
